Menopause at Work

Is your organisation ready for changes in menopause support at work?

Support your people. Retain their experience. Help them thrive.Menopause can affect how someone feels and manages their working day. With understanding, appropriate workplace adaptations and accessible support, people can continue contributing their skills and experience.Living Well Partners helps organisations explore practical digital wellbeing support for employees experiencing perimenopause and menopause.

What is changing?

Preparing for equality action plans

Employers with 250 or more employees can currently publish voluntary equality action plans alongside their gender pay gap data. These plans cover actions to address the gender pay gap and support employees experiencing menopause.

Government guidance states that action plans are expected to become mandatory from spring 2027, subject to legislation. Different rules apply to public authorities in Scotland and Wales.

Whether you employ 25 people or 2,500, now is a useful time to consider what support your employees can access and how it works in practice.

From a written commitment to everyday support

What does support look like for your employees?

A policy is a starting point. Employees also need to know where to find support and feel able to talk about what would help them at work.

Experiences differ. Someone may need greater flexibility, a different working environment, clearer communication or access to reliable wellbeing information. Understanding the individual helps employers respond appropriately.

Our aim is to help organisations create conditions where employees feel understood, supported and able to remain and progress in meaningful work.
