Our commitment

Living Well Partners is committed to managing and reducing the environmental impacts associated with its business activities.

As a predominantly digital and remote organisation, our environmental impacts arise principally from energy use, digital and cloud infrastructure, business travel, IT equipment, purchased goods and services, waste and the wider environmental impacts associated with the delivery of our services.

We are committed to operating responsibly, preventing unnecessary environmental harm and continually improving our environmental performance as the organisation develops.

Our environmental aims

Living Well Partners aims to:

  • Minimise unnecessary energy and resource consumption
  • Reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with business operations
  • Maintain a remote-first and digital-first operating model where appropriate
  • Minimise unnecessary business travel
  • Use an electric vehicle for business travel where car travel is required
  • Use public transport and rail where reasonably practicable
  • Reduce paper use and unnecessary printing
  • Minimise waste and encourage reuse and recycling
  • Extend the useful life of IT equipment where practical
  • Dispose of electronic equipment responsibly
  • Consider environmental impacts when purchasing goods and services
  • Consider the environmental commitments of significant suppliers where reasonably possible
  • Reduce unnecessary digital storage and duplication
  • Use digital, cloud and AI services proportionately
  • Comply with applicable environmental legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Regularly review opportunities to improve environmental performance

Environmental management

Environmental considerations will be incorporated proportionately into operational and purchasing decisions.

Where feasible, Living Well Partners will favour options that:

  • Reduce waste
  • Minimise energy and resource consumption
  • Support responsible sourcing
  • Reduce unnecessary travel
  • Improve efficiency
  • Extend product and equipment life
  • Demonstrate credible environmental commitments

Environmental considerations will be balanced appropriately with accessibility, service quality, operational requirements, data protection, information security and value for money.

Sustainable travel

Living Well Partners operates on a remote-first basis wherever appropriate in order to reduce routine commuting and unnecessary business travel.

Where car travel is necessary, Living Well Partners currently uses an electric vehicle for business purposes.

Where practical, meetings will be conducted remotely and journeys will be combined or avoided where this does not compromise effective service delivery.

Digital environmental impact

Living Well Partners recognises that digital technologies, cloud computing, data storage and artificial intelligence services also have environmental impacts.

We will therefore seek to:

  • Avoid unnecessary duplication of digital information
  • Periodically review stored data and digital services
  • Avoid retaining information without a legitimate operational, legal or research purpose
  • Use technology proportionately
  • Maintain devices and equipment for as long as reasonably practicable
  • Consider environmental performance when selecting significant technology services and suppliers

Waste and resources

Living Well Partners seeks to minimise waste through responsible purchasing, reuse and digital delivery.

Where waste is produced, recyclable materials will be recycled wherever appropriate facilities are available.

Electronic equipment will be reused, refurbished or responsibly recycled wherever practicable.

Procurement

Environmental considerations will form part of purchasing and supplier decisions where relevant and proportionate.

Where products or services provide comparable quality, suitability and value, Living Well Partners will consider suppliers or options demonstrating:

  • Reduced environmental impact
  • Responsible sourcing
  • Reduced packaging
  • Energy efficiency
  • Waste reduction
  • Credible environmental commitments

Continuous improvement

Living Well Partners is committed to a programme of continual environmental improvement.

This will include:

  • Reviewing environmental impacts as the organisation grows
  • Improving the measurement of relevant environmental indicators
  • Reviewing business travel and resource use
  • Monitoring opportunities to reduce energy and waste
  • Reviewing significant suppliers where appropriate
  • Improving carbon measurement over time
  • Updating policies and practices in response to new evidence, technology, legislation and recognised good practice
  • Setting additional environmental objectives where proportionate to the scale and nature of the organisation

Governance and review

Responsibility for this Environmental Policy Statement sits with the senior leadership of Living Well Partners.

The policy will be reviewed at least annually and updated where there are significant changes to the organisation’s operations, environmental impacts, legal requirements or sustainability objectives.
